I am a first year PhD student. Supervised by Magdalena Romera and Gorka Elordieta, my thesis focuses on how language attitudes and the degree of contact with other varieties of Basque influence the levelling out of locally marked features in Western Basque.
My main research interests are sociolinguistics, language variation, and language attitudes, and I collaborate with the ProCasEus project on the suprasegmental outcomes of language contact in Basque-speaking areas. I have also collaborated with the research team Gogo Elebiduna (UPV/EHU) thanks to the Ikasiker fellowship grant, which gave me insight into experimental design and research methodologies.
